Jay Spitzer

Recovery Coach | Founder of Forged Recovery Coaching

Jay Spitzer is originally from West Texas and moved to Austin in 2018 with one goal in mind: to get sober and build a different life. That decision marked the beginning of a transformation thatnow fuels his passion for helping others do the same.

Jay earned his Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and is currently pursuing his graduate degree in addiction counseling, working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Jay began working in the treatment industry in 2019, walking alongside men and families as they rebuild their lives from the ground up.

As the founder of Forged Recovery Coaching, Jay offers something uniquely structured and deeply relational. His program is rooted in the 12 spiritual principles of Alcoholics Anonymous while integrating practical accountability, individualized assignments, and collaborative care. What sets Jay apart is the intentional structure of his Client Portal and Family Portal available through his website, www.forgedrecoverycoaching.com. These portals provide:

This dual-portal system ensures that both the client and the family are growing together rather than apart. Too often, recovery isolates one side from the other. Jay believes healing happens when the gap between client and family is bridged with honesty, communication, and shared understanding.

Jay operates from a philosophy of grace and accountability. He believes transformation requires both compassion and structure. He stands in the gap for his clients and families, modeling what it means to show up consistently, tell the truth, and live by spiritual principles.

At the core of his work is relationship. Recovery is not a transaction; it is a shared path. Jay believes in walking that path together — building trust, fostering spiritual growth, and helping individuals become the most grounded and responsible version of themselves.
